At All Times

“When times are good, enjoy the good; when times are bad, consider: God has made the former as well as the latter so that people can’t discover anything that will come to be after them.” Ecclesiastes 7:14 CEB

Yes, God gives us good times and bad times, and they both have a purpose. The good times can bring us joy, peace, fun, rest, prosperity, etc. They are meant to bless us and refresh us!  God enjoys the good times with us and looks forward to blessing us in and through them.

The bad times can bring sorrow, anxiety, unrest, boredom, lack, etc. They are meant to strengthen us and draw us closer to God. He doesn’t wish these times on us but He allows them and definitely walks through them with us, and He longs for us to lean into Him in the process.

We don’t know what tomorrow holds because God wants us to rely on Him alone. One thing we do know for sure, though, and is that God is good, He loves you and me, and if we put our trust in Him the good times will return. When we find ourself content in whatever situation we are in, that’s when we know we are trusting God alone.
