The Blueprint – Day 11
PROVERBS 31:24 says: “She makes fine linen garments and leads others to buy them; she delivers to the merchants girdles [or sashes that free one up for service].” AMPC
My first thought: If she’s going to set her hand to something it’s going to be excellent. She makes fine linen garments that look good and will last. She creates value! She doesn’t go for the cheap, easy way.
Then she leads others to buy them. That takes initiative, courage, thought, marketing strategies, presentation, etc. It’s one thing to make something, it’s another to lead people to buy it! She knows what she makes has value and that is what helps her be confident in selling her items. It’s worth doing things right and well because it will pay off in the end.
She makes items for other merchants to use or to sell. She finds a need and fills it. Girdles were necessary to keep their clothing out from around their legs when they worked, or had to move about a lot, or quickly. She made beautiful girdles that were woven with gold and silver thread and studded with jewels. Who wouldn’t want that over a plain girdle?
The more I read and study about this woman the more impressed I am with her. This is the image of who God created us to be and that’s amazing!
Action Step: When you set your hand to something do you plan on it being excellent or are you just hoping to get it done regardless of how it turns out? Do you value what you do and see value in it? Why or why not?
