The Blueprint – Day 13

PROVERBS 31:26 says: “She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction].”  AMPC

Wow, the world would be so much more pleasant if more of us had this quality!  This verse tells me that she isn’t silent and she isn’t overly talkative.  It’s important that she shares the wisdom she has gained with others instead of keeping it to herself.  She also isn’t speaking just to have something to say or to be heard. This takes a certain amount of self-discipline for those that like to talk a lot.

She’s thoughtful. She uses wisdom instead of leaning on her own understanding or feelings. Because the word skillful is used it shows me that she has practiced this a lot. That’s the only way to become skillful in something. She isn’t just using this wisdom when speaking for herself but she uses it when helping others.

It also says she has the law of kindness on her tongue. That must mean that kindness is in her heart because out of the heart the mouth speaks. So she has taken measures to fill her heart and mind with Godly wisdom and understanding so she can express the heart of God to others. So good! Makes me aware of how I often say things I wish I wouldn’t have or had said them in a kinder way.

Action Step:  Do you take time to think about what you are saying before you say it?  Do you have the law of kindness on your tongue? Do you share the wisdom God has given you when you feel the Holy Spirit prompting you to do so?  Why or why not?
