The Blueprint – Day 15
PROVERBS 31:28-29 says: “Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied); and her husband boasts of, and praises her, [saying], Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well [with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness], but you excel them all.” AMPC
Wow! I’m sure we’d all like this to be what our children, husbands, parents, siblings, etc. say about us. The fact that those closest to her are able to speak so highly of her shows that this is really who she is. They see her at all times and in all situations.
She has the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness. That tells me that she’s learned to rely on God in all circumstances so she chooses what’s good! This isn’t just who she is when others are watching but this is who she is always. It speaks about being true to ourselves and being willing to look at our true self and address those things that aren’t pleasing.
Her husband says, “but you excel them all”. She isn’t prideful in hearing this but is thankful that God has allowed her to excel to this point. How awesome that her family verbally lets her know how they feel about her, which encourages her to continue to be this woman.
We know she wasn’t born this way, she became this woman through her pursuit of God and godly things. It can be the same for us. When we submit to God and allow Him to work in our hearts and minds we will change! We can be this woman if we don’t give in and give up. It’s never too late to let God work in us and through us to change us into the woman He designed us to be.
Action Step: What do your children, friends, spouse, co-workers say about you? If it’s not what you want them to say, what can you do to change that? What specific steps will you take? Who will keep you accountable?
