Getting It Right

“Therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the foreign wives and their children, according to the counsel of my Lord and of those who tremble at the command of our God; and let it be done according to the Law. Arise, for it is your duty, and we are with you. Be strong and brave and do it.” Ezra‬ ‭10:3-4‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

We can see the great leadership of Ezra throughout this entire book. Ezra always goes directly to God to seek His help and direction. He doesn’t rely on himself or those around him for that wisdom, as we often do.

I’m thinking about how difficult this process was to actually correct and go through. These Israelites had to separate themselves from their spouse and children, if they had married foreigners, because it went against God’s laws. Thankfully, they wanted to make it right.

Sometimes our decisions lead us to difficult circumstances but when we humble ourselves before God, He makes a way for us to get things back on track again and if those steps are difficult, He gives us strength and wisdom to complete them. Be strong and brave and do it!
