Made New!

“But you were taught to be made new in your hearts, to become a new person. That new person is made to be like God—made to be truly good and holy.” Ephesians 4:23-24 NCV

Are there days when you just don’t feel truly good or holy?  Me too! The truth is, we were made to be like God.  We’ve been given revelation that is meant to change the way we think.  That revelation knowledge has a job, it is to renew our minds and make us into a new creation. 

The Holy Spirit dwells within us and has the power to change us from the inside out.  As we embrace Christ and the work He did on the cross, and as we take in and believe the transforming Word of God, it can’t help but change us.  We are made new in our hearts by the renewing of our minds.  God re-creates us in His righteousness. We are holy in His sight because of what Christ did for us on the cross. 

So, we can stop beating ourselves up, and accepting shame when we mess up, and realize that the forgiveness that is offered to us is what opens the doors to the renewing of our minds and ultimately has the power to make our hearts new and transform us into the image of God. Wow, what a privilege to be made new!
