Reflecting Rays of Truth

“Open your heart and consider my words. Watch out that you do not mistake your opinions for revelation-light! If your spirit burns with light, fully illuminated with no trace of darkness, you will be a shining lamp, reflecting rays of truth by the way you live.” Luke‬ ‭11:35-36‬ ‭TPT‬‬

This spoke to me about being cautious that we don’t mistake our opinions for God’s truth. It’s easy to rely on our ‘knowledge’ and not take time to stop and ask Holy Spirit what He has to say in a matter. This is how we can miss the revelation light that is being talked about.

This verse also directs us to check our soul and see if there is any trace of darkness in us. This speaks to me about daily keeping my soul clean and replacing anything that doesn’t belong there with the things of God. I find a good indicator of when I need to do a soul checkup is when my speech or actions aren’t reflecting Christ.

The goal is to have no trace of darkness, or no indication that darkness was there. So that means, over time, consistently choosing only light and eliminating any darkness as soon as it is recognized. I find if I ask Holy Spirit to show me these things, He will.
