The Facts About Faith

“For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [the leaning of your entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness] and of the love which you [have and show] for all the saints (God’s consecrated ones).” Colossians‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

I appreciate this description of faith. It isn’t attained by partial effort, but by our whole being; mind, will, and emotions. It’s absolute trust and confidence in three very important things. God is powerful beyond measure. He is wise in all things. He is absolutely good all the time.

We have to know and believe these things are true about Him in order to fully trust Him. God has the ability to do what needs to be done, the wisdom to know when to accomplish it, and the love and goodness to know how to bring it about.

Our experiential knowledge of God and our time in the Word will point us to these truths. We also have to take time to remind ourselves of them and as we do we will grow stronger in our faith.
