Wait with Expectation!

“Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.” Psalm 27:14 AMPC

I know many of us are currently in a situation in which we’re waiting on the Lord for an answer to something that is important to us. I find this verse so encouraging and refreshing, which is often what I need when I’ve been waiting on God for awhile.

The instruction is to be brave and of good courage, which originates from our reliance on the supernatural power of God. To be stout is to be strong of character, as in being brave, bold, firm, and determined.

Those attributes all sound good but when we’re waiting for God to come through, and it’s been a good while, it can be very difficult to step into these virtues in our own strength. It’s only in our reliance on God’s promises and His supernatural powers that we can truly live out this verse to the fullest.

God is encouraging us to wait on Him. His timing is perfect and He hasn’t forgotten our requests. He will be faithful to answer in just the right time with more than we asked for.
