Zealous to Know Him

God desires that we would be zealous to know Him. To be zealous is to have great energy or enthusiasm. I thought about how many believers feel tired, discouraged, or confused during this season and with that in mind, being zealous for anything may be a difficult thing.

But I want to encourage you if you find yourself in that position. God never disappoints those who truly seek Him. The more you get to know Him the more you want to know Him. That is what brings on the zeal!

We have to take the steps to seek to know Him, to appreciate and cherish Him even if we don’t have the zeal we desire. His ways are prepared already, as are yours. His ways are certain. He will come and bring refreshing, just like the spring rain. When we seek Him, and ask for zeal to continue to seek Him, we will not be disappointed.

“Yes, let us know (recognize, be acquainted with, and understand) Him; let us be zealous to know the Lord [to appreciate, give heed to, and cherish Him]. His going forth is prepared and certain as the dawn, and He will come to us as the [heavy] rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth.”  Hosea 6:3 AMPC
